TRINITY UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST DONOR WALL

The Eyes in the leaves of the treetops indicate an invisible spirit who sees all but says nothing like the Egyptian eye of Horus for protection, power and good health. The Sun is significant to the nourishment but brings reference to the harsh conditions of the land. The Birds are inspired by the Sika Wo Antaban fabric, that means “money has wings or Speedbird”. This fabric encourages people to make good financial investments. If one is not careful with money, it will fly away like a bird. The Super Fruits symbolized with the bark and fruits of the tree have an immense nutritional and medicinal value. The Star patterns in the sky and the tribal cloth patterned lines represent the surrounding earth. The Mandala like pattern of falling flowers in the background encapsulates the baobob trees symbolizing the Sacred Circle of Life.

Knowledge and wisdom are like the trunk of the baobab tree. No one person’s arm span is great enough to encompass them. – a saying from Ghana
